Uranium ore is recovered using either conventional mill ing or solution mining (in situ leaching). Beneficiation of conventionally mined ores i nvolves crushing and grinding the extract ed ores followed by placement in a leaching circuit. In situ operations use a leach solution to dissolve desirable uraniferous minerals from in-place deposits.

What Is The Crushing Process

Crushing is the process of size reduction of ore. Size reduction process begins with usage of explosives at the area for production of ore. In later stages, the size reduction process performed with crushers before grinding in mills is called "crushing". Although there is no limit set, the downsizing process over 3 mm is considered as "crushing ...

Uranium. Ore from in-situ uranium mines is already in a liquid form as it has been pumped out of the ground. However, ore from open-pit mines is first crushed and mixed with water and then added to large tanks of acid. Because uranium dissolves easily, in solution it becomes separated from other minerals and elements, which remain solid.
