I used a tool post grinder on a 14" Clausing to grind threads on an injection mold core. R&D environment for single cavity sample mold. Actually worked out pretty well. Custom bottle cap thread required the wheel dressed to odd angles. Half nut remained engaged. Slow feed by pulling the chuck by hand allowed for precise stopping point.

Heck, my stomp shear lives outside under a tarp so no room for any more large tools! The tool post grinder will have to suffice for my grinding needs. Actually, I just bought a second Themac off ebay because it was so reasonably priced -J40, so external only but 1/2hp motor vs the 1/3hp of the J-35.
