Molecular Biology of Cadmium Toxicity in

Like arsenic, cadmium experiences vacuolar sequestration, an operation requiring energy [].In S. cerevisiae, cadmium found in the cytoplasm is intrinsically chelated by glutathione (GSH) and consequently cadmium II glutathione complexes (Cd(GS) 2) are generated, which are then transmitted to the vacuole via ATP-dependent action of Ycf1 …

Adsorption-controlled preparation of anionic imprinted amino

The analysis results of FT-IR and XPS confirmed that the high adsorption selectivity of the I-EDA-CS attributed to the chelation and electrostatic attraction between the amine groups and Re(VII) anionic complexes in the "cavities". Imprinted I-EDA-CS was successfully employed for the selective adsorption of Re(VII) from industrial wastewater.

The unstable complexes formed at the membrane interface are transferred to the stripping solution (Duan et al. 2017). The highest extraction efficiency of cobalt ions was 91%, 89% for nickel ions, and 89% for copper ions at 4 h at pH 3.5 (Table 2). Cadmium did not pass into the stripping solution in either of the membrane compositions.
