Conclusions. A two-dimensional, computational fluid dynamics model based on the Euler–Lagrangian approach in the Fluent package was used to simulate gas–particle flow in a cross-flow air classifier. The model predictions for the flow field are compared with LDA measurements and good agreement is observed when using a structured grid.
